Doxford Shipyard

The Doxford & Sunderland Shipbuilding & Engineering Co. Ltd had a fleet of crane tanks and one Peckett saddle tank at its Pallion Shipyard near Sunderland. This 1968 scene shows Peckett 0-4-0 saddle tank 'General' (W/No.2049 built in 1944) and Robert Stephenson & Hawthorns 0-4-0 crane tank 'Millfield' (W/No.7070 built in 1942) preparing to move off shed.
