Pico Veleta
Pico Veleta is the second Highest mountain of Sierra Nevada in Spain, 3398 meter high. It is visible from Granada.
I started walking in sandals from the statue of "Virgen de la Nieves and Veleta" at about 2.600 meter, never thinking of reachinig the top. But it was impossible to stop. 35 degrees Celsius, a burning sun and half a litre of water was a challenge, but by planning better I would love to do it again - its a fantastic hike and a view to remember.
