Note: The sculpture “Presidential Seal” is based on the unique version of the Presidential Seal that Franklin D. Roosevelt (FDR) used throughout his presidency. Roosevelt’s seal was a modified version of the Seal of the United States. He removed the traditional shield over the eagle’s body as well as the arrows and olive branches from the eagle’s talons. FDR’s personalized presidential seal was first seen on the platform where he was inaugurated to his first term on March 4, 1933.
