Lego Study Room

by krabby.patti

Having once followed to the "more is more" approach to Lego display, I have now tried to adopt the opposite path. I wanted to end up with a aesthetically coherent room that didn't look out of place in the house, didn't look like a hoarder's cave (that's what the Lego storage room is for!) but still afforded lots of display space and retained functionality (you'll see I did manage to squeeze a desk and non-Lego related work items in the room too).

As a collector of predominantly large sets, I prefer the visual impact of a set that has its own 'space' in a clean setting, but doesn't look like it's for sale in a shop. The room was already this colour, but the decision to make all of my display shelving white was deliberate.

Given display space is finite and I (like many other AFOLs) harbour the strong desire to display all of my sets all of the time, this by necessity results in making display choices, and therefore most of the collection lives packed away in boxes and tubs.

As with any such room, it's forever a work in progress! :)
