GOTG Vol. 2 REVIEW

Hooooo boy. Let's just review this, shall we?

As usual, I'll start with the good. And let me tell you, there's quite a lot of it so I'll be brief. The humour in this film is, for the most part, hilarious. The intro with Mr Blue Sky was great, and the way the Sovereign ship controls were basically and arcade was pretty funny. However, I get that some bits did fall flat, such as Rocket and his gang becoming literal catroon characters when jumping through space, and I struggle to laugh and poop/pee/vomit jokes. Another thing that brought it back however, were the visuals. Ego's planet looks beautiful and even the Ravager's ship, while dingy, did look very interesting. Oh, and the final fight between Peter and Ego is great, especially with The Chain playing in the background and Pac Man. Just... Pac Man.

Unfortunately, no movie is perfect. As I mentioned earlier, the jokes are not always funny and a few times felt too childish.

Overall, I do definitely feel the good outweighs the bad in this film, and brings on par with the first, if not slightly above. For that, I give GOTG Vol. 2 a solid 8/10.
