Star Wars: The Force Awakens REVIEW
Yes I suck because it took me this long to see it... onto the review!
Good:
This is one of the best Star Wars films to date, up there with Empire Strikes Back. The characters are all very memorable, the action scenes are great, but from me the one thing that stood out was Kylo Ren's lightsaber. I want one of those, it just looks so cool! It's a completely different style to the one we're used to, both the blade itself and how it's set out. Also, it does well in setting up the new trilogy and nobody loses a hand, arm, etc. for once.
Bad:
Okay two things. One, the plot is basically A New Hope with parts from Empire and Return attached. Another complaint was the death of one of the main characters. The signs were all there, but I was hoping this death wouldn't happen. It was also very sudden, leaping right into a new trilogy by killing off a well-liked character.
Overall, this is one of my favourite Star Wars films, but not my favourite overall film. 9.5/10
