Golden Memories

In 1989 Cynon Valley Transport sold a number of its ECW-bodied Bristol RESL6Ls, with 14 (GHB 147N) passing to Parfitt's and 40 (LTG 40L) being acquired by Llandow-based Golden Coaches. However, three years later, Parfitt's sold former 14 on to Golden, who immediately pressed her into service still with Parfitt's fleetnames. She did at least subsequently receive Golden's livery and lasted until at least 1995.

In this February 1992 scan of a slide, she had just arrived at Cardiff Bus Station when operating Service 145 (Llantwit Major-St Athan-Rhoose-Barry-Dinas Powys-Cardiff), which was a real 'foot down' special with a timetabled hour end to end running time.

If I'm not mistaken, she was fitted with a Bristol LH front panel at some stage in her career, probably by Parfitt's.
