Decker to Maerdy

The five Alexander Dennis Enviro400-bodied Scania N230UDs that Stagecoach in South Wales received from the Oxfordshire fleet in 2020 are transferring from Cwmbran to Porth depot for use on Service 132 (Maerdy-Ferndale-Porth-Pontypridd-Treforest-Taffs Wells-Cardiff), alongside the allocation of Gold-specification Alexander Dennis E20D MMCs.

These are the first deckers to operate for Porth depot since the mid 1990s, when Rhondda Buses, as the successor to National Welsh, had a small number of Leyland Olympians, Volvo Citybuses and Bristol VRs, also for Service 132. Stagecoach acquired Rhondda Buses in December 1997, by which time it was an all-single deck fleet.

Back to the present day, and 15965 is captured emerging from Catherine Street, Pontypridd, Maerdy bound.
