The number of Pointer-bodied Darts in the Stagecoach in South Wales fleet continues to diminish, largely due to frequency reductions caused by driver retention issues.
Merthyr Tydfil depot still has eight on its books, and these are usually spread across the local services, and these days less so on those covering the Taff and Rhymney Valleys.
Merthyr's 34764 is from a batch of 29 that transferred from the Merseyside fleet in Winter 2009/2010, initially for operation from Porth depot. The survivors are now concentrated at Merthyr, Blackwood and Caerphilly depots, and ironically, Porth no longer has a Dart allocation.
