Nine Year Climb
Stagecoach in South Wales's Aberdare depot lost its Alexander PS-bodied Volvo B10Ms allocated to Service 172 (Aberdare-Rhondda Valleys-Bridgend-Porthcawl) in October 2012 in favour of a batch of nearly new Alexander Dennis Enviro300-bodied Scania K230UBs. Five of the Scanias (28637-9/41/2) remain the regular allocation.
28642 is one of three to have received the new corporate livery in the past 12 months or so, and she is captured climbing the Penrhys Mountain Road, with the Rhondda Fawr (Big Rhondda) forming the backdrop, when returning to Aberdare in October 2021.
