Swansea-based Cymru Coaches is a regular rail replacement contractor for GWR. Since PSVAR has been a requirement for coaches used on regular services, potentially affecting rail replacement operations, the company has been building up a PSVAR-compliant fleet of single-deck buses to complement its coach fleet.
Five Optare Tempos have beens sourced from Yellow Buses of Bournemouth, with three in service to date. All retain their R- TYB (Transdev Yellow Buses) registration marks.
Representing these, R16 TYB is seen outside Swansea Railway Station in February 2020, when operating a journey to Port Talbot on behalf of GWR.
