Driving Home for Christmas

One of the highlights of this year has been the 12 Volvo B8RLEs with Egyptian-built MCV eVoRa bodywork introduced to the Stagecoach in South Wales fleet for TrawsCymru Services T4 (Cardiff-Pontypridd-Merthyr Tydfil-Brecon-Builth Wells-Llandrindod Wells-Newtown) and T14 (Cardiff-Pontypridd-Merthyr Tydfil-Brecon-Talgarth-Hay on Wye-Hereford). These replaced a mixture of Optare Tempos and Alexander Dennis Enviro300-bodied Scanias and MANs. The route of the T4 is approximately 110 miles from end to end and, with the T14, require 12 vehicles. These are provided by Merthyr Tydfil depot and its Brecon outstation, with the diagrams allowing the vehicles to naturally cycle for maintenance purposes.

This shot of 21360 was taken on Christmas Eve afternoon 2019 while she was at speed on the A470 just north of Storey Arms, when heading for Newtown (destination displays are changed several times along the route) as a T4. She would end her working day at approximately 2000 and then spend two days parked at Brecon outstation for the Christmas break.
