The four day Cheltenham Festival, held in mid March each year, sees Stagecoach West loan approximately 60 double-deckers from other Stagecoach subsidiaries and the activation of its reserve fleet. Some of the company's double-deckers are temporarily replaced on their regular workings by single deckers.
This year five Pointer-bodied Darts from Stagecoach in South Wales's reserve fleet - 34522, 34555, 34664, 34670 and 34676 - were temporarily transferred to West's Cheltenham depot to release the Alexander Dennis Enviro400-bodied Scanias used on Service 94U for Festival duties.
My second photo shows 34555 waiting time in Gloucester's Market Parade before returning to Cheltenham. She was latterly based at Blackwood depot for the ASDA free bus contract, but was new to the East London fleet as a dual-door machine.
