Border Terminus
The small town of Glynneath at the top of the Neath Valley marks the border of Neath Port Talbot, Rhondda Cynon Taf and Powys, and has no less than four operators providing local bus services - First Cymru (X5), Stagecoach in South Wales (8), 1st Call (X75) and Community Transport provider DANSA (161, 162 & 165).
First Cymru's Service X5 (Glynneath-Resolven-Neath-Swansea) was upgraded last Spring with a pool of new Wright Streetlite Max DFs based at Port Talbot depot, replacing 55 and 56-plate Wrightbus Eclipse Urban-bodied Volvo B7RLEs. These carry the three-tone blue and gold 'interurban' version of corporate livery with CYMRU CLIPPER / CLIPIWR CYMRU fleetnames.
Representing these in this May 2014 view is 63088, climbing Rhigos Road to the Pontwalby Bridge terminus, which is a bespoke area of land that enables vehicles to reverse.
