SEPTA 2137 on the Route 47 Loop, Philadelphia, PA on November 30, 1968

I am beginning a series of photographs of Philadelphia PCC trolley cars. "The PCC (Presidents’ Conference Committee) is a streetcar design that was first built in the United States in the 1930s. The design proved successful in its native country, and after World War II it was licensed for use elsewhere in the world where PCC based cars were made. The PCC car has proved to be a long-lasting icon of streetcar design, and many are still in service around the world." Wikipedia

"The Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) is a regional public transportation authority that operates bus, rapid transit, commuter rail, light rail, and electric trolleybus services for nearly 4 million people in five counties in and around Philadelphia, Pennsylvania."
