CB&Q TR2s, Known as Cows and Calves -- 4 Photos

CB&Q 9400AB through 9413AB were built by EMD as TR2s, i.e., two switchers rear to rear with only one having a cab. Each TR2 pair was separated and rebuilt about 1954 as a full NW2s, both with cabs.

CB&Q TR2 9400AB were EMD Demonstrators and were numbered 912AB. This photo shows calf 9400B separated from its cow and with a cab added as a NW2 on June 4, 1964 in St. Paul, MN. If you ever wondered why Daytons Bluff Yard was so named, you're looking at it.
