CB&Q Milledgeville, Illinois -- 11 Photos
CB&Q E5A 9915B and an E7A with Train 21 on August 20, 1964 flying through Milledgeville, IL The train looks too big to be just the Morning Zephyr, but in August it usually was not combined with the North Coast Limited or Empire Builder.
BuddPullman commented on Train Orders:
First we see Vista Dome Observation Parlor, "Silver View" or "Silver Vista" operating backwards.
Next we see forward, or normal, operating Vista Dome Observation (flat end) "Silver Tower" or "Silver Terrace". This flat end obs (second obs in photo) is operating correctly with the long parlor room to the rear. Note the single, lower, Drawing Room window under the dome of Silver Terrace or Silver Tower. When operating correctly, the passenger occupied Drawing Room window is on the Loco Engineer's side of the train. The under dome, hallway windows, are on the Firemans side, next to the adjacent tracks, when in multiple main territory.
For a period of time the Vista Dome Parlors operated on the front portion of the Twin Zephyr, when necessary. .
