Sandbach Enterprise Trip

Another Enterprise working from the early 2000s. This is 6K15 10:03 Warrington Arpley to Sandbach Enterprise trip setting out from Arpley Yard with EWS Class 56 no. 56117 in charge on the 13th September 2002.

Behind the loco is a TUA tank containing Gas Oil and is likely to be destined for Crewe. This is followed by three empty TEA bogie tanks returning to Sandbach after delivering Hydrochloric Acid to Dalry in Scotland. The last two wagons in the consist appear to be two empty Nitric Acid bogie tanks returning to Sandbach from Sellafield. After leaving Sandbach the train went forward as 6F17 to Arpley via Crewe.

According to my notes this was a good day for Class 56s in the Warrington area at a time when their numbers were steadily reducing. 56074 worked the Arpley to St Helens Enterprise trip, 56102 Knowsley to Immingham vans, 56114 Seaforth to Tinsley empty steel and 56083 Ashton to Lindsey Bitumen tanks. It's hard to believe it was nearly 20 years ago now!!
