Unexpected flying banana!
This was my first revisit to the Trent Valley section of the WCML since the upgrade to four tracks. I was assessing the options for shots from the overbridge at Hademore when the Network Rail measurement train suddenly appeared! Luckily, I had just enough time to grab the camera for this shot.
This was not showing on realtime trains at the time, so I'm guessing the working is 12:29 Crewe C.S. to Derby RTC via Rugby and Crewe.
The leading power car is Class 43 no. 43062 'John Armitt' with 43014 ' The Railway Observer' doing the pushing!
