Looking Over My Shoulder

The Dakota, Missouri Valley & Western came to mind today for a post to my Flickr. Quickly browsing images from this day I came across this one that has been on the back-burner. At Geneseo Jct, ND was this classic station sign for a place where there really is no one. No houses, gas stations, not even a "station". I had to included it, making the train that's charging along at 25mph seem secondary.

Hanging on my living room wall is an O. Winston Link original titled, "Solitude". He passed it on to me decades ago while I assisted him in one of his larger projects. He said, "I'm giving you this, because I know this is you with your photos."

Well, wouldn't you know it. I didn't until just now. It hit me as I pulled up Flickr on my laptop and glanced up over my left shoulder! Ha! He was right! I just never had the opportunity in the past 35 years to make it happen. On this chilly day in the great plains of North Dakota, I guess I unknowingly finally did.

To see "Solitude", go to the link.
