Big Speed
At about halfway between Scotstown and Milan, Quebec on CPR's Sherbrooke Subdivision is a place to locals known at McLeod's. To the railroad, it is Spruce. This area all the way to the Maine border also has the nicest track on the entire sub. A train can really roll through here while going up or down the grades. On this day this eastbound is doing just that. With three bigs up front and a relatively light train of only about 70 cars, the engineer has the throttle way back and the sanders on full and will wheel this train right up over the summit at Nantes with ease.
