A day in the life of Shulin Zhang

My chosen subject is the one and only 18 year old Shulin Zhang. She was my first thought for this project because there's never a moment when she's not busy doing something interesting. She is very dedicated to everything she does and her beliefs are so strong and fascinating. Shulin has an artsy, hippie-like vibe to her and I wanted to capture her in those moments from her meditating to eating her organic meals. These photos capture her daily life because I shadowed what she did throughout the day and did what she did. I tried to take a picture of every different thing she did, and narrow it down to 10. I spent 2 days with Shulin including over night to capture her daily activities from sleeping to cooking and even playing the drums. A photographer that inspired me was Lisa Kristine because of the way she captures the subjects facial and body expression that shows exactly how they're feeling in that moment. I tried to do that with my photos by keeping them as natural and unexpected as possible.
