Elephant Road Block!

I captured this on March 2014. This big guy can be seen often on Buttala-Kataragama highway along the Yala National Park strech. He blocks the road and does not move till you give him a treat. Villagers say you must give him කප්පම් :) to be on your way. Of course he is harmless. Never done any harm to any person or vehicle. This is his way of getting some nice treats from pilgrims... Next time you are at Kataragama, take drive on the Buttala-Kataragama highway early morning and you might see him in action...
