On The Waterfront 1
The city of Wausau, Wisconsin is cut in half from north to south by the Wisconsin River. City leaders have finally begun to develop the waterfront including 16 acres of former industrial land along the east side of the river. Plans include extending the River Edge Parkway that some day (hopefully) will run along both sides of the river from one end of the city to the other, physically linking all the parks located along the river. As part of that development the city is tearing down many of the old buildings in that area. On a recent Saturday I went out to capture some buildings that are still standing before they disappear forever. This is the abandoned Sav-O Supply building that is now owned by the city that hopes to attract a developer who will breathe some life back into this blighted structure. If one cannot be found this building may soon be gone as well.
A cool way to view mine or anyone else's photostream is on fluidr.
