Sunsets and Tidal Flows

The Pentecost River at the foot of the Cockburn Ranges in the Kimberley Region of Western Auistralia.

During daylight, this massive river would almost empty to wide mud flats. Towards sunset, the magic happens and the river refills until it seems it will burst its banks. Then the process reverses again.

Despite being more than 50 kilometres inland, saltwater crocodiles (ie, the man-eating variety) are abundant.
