Sringeri

Sri Vidyashankara temple is located on the banks of the river Tunga in Sringeri which is hill town town (2,205 ft above the sea level). It is the first maṭha established by Adi Shankara, Hindu theologian and exponent of the Advaita Vedanta philosophy, in the 8th century CE and also has 1200 hundred years of history.
