Banff Elk
A Massive male Elk in Banff National Park, Alberta.
We were loosing light fast, and I had actually put my camera back into my backpack and we were driving back to where we were staying, when we saw this guy off to the side of the road. I pulled my camera out as quick as I could and hopped out of the car. I had my ISO set to Auto (with a shutter speed of 1/250 or higher) and just put in Av, and dropped my Aperture as low as my lens would go (f4). Luckily my AF was set to zone.
Just as I brought my camera to my eye to take the shot the Elk began to retreat back into the forest. He must have been camera shy.
Not the sharpest shot ever, but my first sighting of a massive male elk with a rack like this. This image does not do his size any justice.
