Eye lens reflraction

I took this shot of a green heron this morning at Commonwealth Lake - there were three very actively working the lake. But what caught my eye on this one is the reddish spot of light at the bottom of this one's eye. I'm pretty sure that it was the angle of light passing through the lens of its eye and refracting. In any case, this alert heron was watching for a fish, and eventually got one. (To be posted at another time.)
