The Sith Trials
Journal entry from one of the Sith Royal Guardians by Malak : 'so today , we are preparing to make one of these two Dark Jedi into Sith Knights , and we released a Wampa into the jungle somewhere. This was the real reason we sent in the regular troops early , and the reason we sent both these Dark Jedi out with patrols. All the Elite Troopers are to make sure no outside forces ruin the trials. I hate how easy it is now , however. Back when I ascended to Sith Knight there were three of us yes , but we had to fight a full grown Rancor with only vibroblades and our wits , on a barren planet called Yincorr , now site of the Royal Guard training academy. I understand the Sith Masters say there aren't enough sith left to have trials like that anymore , and that we need all we can get for the wars , but I don't see why we can't keep most of them as Dark Jedi and make them really earn the title of Sith. Let me tell you , these two aren't worthy of it. I was twice as powerful as these two are when I got picked to go into trials , or at least I knew more than they did. I don't complain to the Masters about it though , those who do get severely demoted or worse , executed. We'll give these two an hour to find the Wampa , then we send the elite soldiers we have with us and the Sith Warrior up by malak after them to collect their corpses or deal with their failure. We also send out a Sith Assassin to trail them , make sure they don't desert or defect , and to make sure they don't fall to an ambush before reaching the Wampa. I can tell they have the force about them enough to sense it's presence on this sector , so the issue shouldn't be finding it , it should be if they can handle the beast. I don't know why Lord Malak is personally overseeing this , used to be they would just send a regular master to look after the trials. I can only think they're especially strong , and from both of them I sense potential to become powerful masters , but unfortunately one of them won't get that chance. See , after they come back with the Wampa's tusks and give it to Lord Malak , they have to duel each other. Another thing harder in my day - it'd be groups of three or four , and you'd have to fight all of them and usually two of them would align themselves to take out whoever they perceive strongest , which in my case was me. Whoever wins claims the other's lightsaber and give it to the master present , though now it seems they are given the choice to keep the fallen Dark Jedi's saber as their own. Being a Sith Royal Guardian myself , I long ago abandoned my usual lightsaber for the lightsaber pike used among my elite group. We do carry Shotos with us in case of close quarter melee , but such is rare.
By the end of this , one of these two Dark Jedi here bowing before Lord Malak will be leaving as a Sith Knight and the other will have their gear taken from their corpse and used for other Dark Jedi students in the future. Sith'ari knows we don't have enough lightsabers to go around with all the dual wielding these newer Sith do.'
Yeah , it snowed. It's actually STILL snowing and I've already gotten 6 or so inches. Expect more shots in the morning , from this same night and from the morning. I think I may need Sith Snowshoes though.
