Remember...

Like clockwork, Pearl Harbor Survivors served every month at the Veterans Museum and Memorial Center located in the "Old Balboa Navy Hospital Chapel in San Diego... in a memorial service honoring San Diego veterans who had passed away the previous month. Led by David Brown, Pearl Harbor Survivors would read off an average of 300 names of the deceased veterans, in a "Two bell ceremony". As the "United Veterans Memorial" grew, Dignity Memorial, Inc., sponsored full military burial services for any military veteran who passed away in San Diego with no means of support. Shown here, former Navy Chaplain Ron Ritter leads a prayer during the service.
