Victorian L class

Steamrail's Electric L class locomotives L1162 and L1160 are stored outside at the Newport Workshops on 28-2-13.

L1162 repainted back into the VR blue and gold was stored operational waiting on accreditation while the V/Line painted L1160 awaits restoration.

L1150 to L1174 were built by English Electric at the Dick Kerr Works and entered traffic on the Gippland line from 1953 and were all withdrawn by 1987 four are preserved.

L1160 entered service on 23-8-1953 and was withdrawn on 13-6-1987

L1162 entered service on 4-10-1953 and was withdrawn on 15-6-1987
