Silver Bullet

42 of the 2000 class Railmotors were built for Queensland Railways between 1956 and 1971 with some built by Commonwealth Engineering at Rocklea while others by Queensland Rail at Ipswich.

19 of the class still survive, many in preservation including some at Zig Zag rail in NSW , as well at the regular Savannahlander from Cairns.

On 11-11-07, 2004 is stabled at the Rockhampton Railway station , the railmotor entering service on 14-7-1960 was then used by Queensland Rail as a track inspection car and later passed on to Aurizon for the same role.
