The original Intel 8080 design board - about 1975. And it only cost about $600 - half a month's salary for an engineer at the time.
It has everything! CPU, I/O, 256 bytes - NOT Megabytes! of memory.
All you need is a power supply, keyboard and TV monitor and a cassette tape recorder to store you 256 byte program.
This has enough electric power flowing though it to electrocute you. The white chips are ceramic for a reason. They are hot enough to burn you.
This was short-circuited by some high school students and delivered to me to fix. Sort of like running over a pet and taking the flattened body to a Vet...
