Diamond Beach

Day 6 of my third trip to Iceland and finally touching Diamond Beach with some decent weather. Although this beach is an epic location independent of the weather or the clouds, photography is just a lot more fun while there is no rain, no heavy wind and a little bit of sunshine or some decent clouds. The days before massive winds ensured that the ice was blown of the beach and there wasn't even a lot in the lagoon. But on arrival before sunrise, all that ice was raging out of the lagoon by the receding tide, leaving piles of ice blocks on the black sand beach.

It is still a thrill to shoot on these epic locations, with only a handful of other photographers. Met @olih_photography that morning on the beach and had a lovely conversation about Iceland in general and photography more specific. Check out his profile and youtube channel!

Due to the massive amount of ice on the beach, it was quite difficult to get some isolation in the blocks, but I managed to shoot this photo that I really like!
