The Flash: Lightning Doesn't Strike Twice Pt.2
I ended up getting out of the hospital at 12:04, in no time I was back in my usual room, relaxing, I decided to get meet up with some friends, and see what I missed in the week, while walking out I opened the door a bit too fast, and it slammed against the wall, and a pencil fell off my desk, but I could see it in slow motion, and I could reach out, and touch it, I grabbed it, and suddenly it stopped.
“What the…hell?” I said lightly, thinking it must not have been anything other than a side effect of getting doused in chemicals. I head down to see my friend Harry, who had gotten some take-out food, from a local burger chain.
“Yo, Jay I heard you got out, are you okay” he blurts out, as I walk over.
“Yeah I’m fine, anyways, thanks for pulling me out of there man, I don’t really remember it, but thanks anyways” I tell him, he begins to smile, but then drops his food, as it goes flying all over the place, I see it again, in slow motion, dropping very slowly, what the hell, I look around me, I’m moving normally, but everyone else is moving slowly, they don’t notice that time slowed down, or, is it me, has my brain somehow been enhanced by the chemicals, with plenty of time to spare I scoop up all the food and put it back in Harry’s hands.
“Whoa, you, that was fast!” he says happy that he got the food back.
“Yep I guess that was, pretty fast” I say trying to shake off what just happened.
“You know, that might have been a bit too fast, are you sure that bolt, or the chemicals didn’t affect you at all?” he asks, seemingly concerned for how I am.
“Uh, yeah I’m fine” I try to say, not drawing any attention to myself.
“Maybe we should go see Professor Clariss, maybe he can run some tests on you” Harry suggests.
“Alrighty then, I guess it won’t hurt me in the long run” we begin to walk to Clariss’ room.
“Hey Professor Clariss, can I speak to you in private for a moment” Harry yells out to him, he told me that he’ll tell him, to spare me having to explain. In a couple minutes they come out from the corner.
“Alright Henry, I’ll have you hooked up and ready to go in no time” he says to me, in a reassuring, calm voice. Within twenty minutes we’ve arrived at the school track.
“Alright Henry, I’ll need you to put this on, this suit will stay on if you hit high speeds, unlike most clothing, and what’s that in your hand?”
“Oh this, it’s a family relic, a Brodie helmet, my grandfather wore this and died wearing it, I figured that if I now have some amazing gift, maybe I should honor him by wearing it now” I feel reassured, feeling like he’s hear with me. Eventually they hook me up to a computer, and I’m ready to go.
“Alright Henry, RUN!” Clariss yells out, and I begin to run, around the track, I begin to loop it, several times, I’m sure I’m going fast because when I get back to where I started, Clariss and Harry are looking at me in awe.
“Holy crap, you just ran faster than the fastest man alive!” Harry yells out, completely excited by this.
“Well, I guess this makes me, the fastest man alive now” I look out to the sky, its bright its blue, it makes me think of my future now, I’m already a good student, now I also have the ability to run fast, but I’ll need a separate identity.
“So, can anyone here add lightning bolts to this hat?”
