G20 launch event
The Prime Minister of Australia and the Premier of Queensland today launched Australia’s presidency of the G20.

On 4 November 2011, G20 leaders agreed that Australia would host the G20 in 2014. Australia takes over the presidency of the G20 on 1 December 2013 from Russia, and Turkey will succeed Australia in December 2015.
Australia’s G20 presidency runs from 1 December 2013 to 30 November 2014. The year will involve a series of preparatory meetings that will culminate in the G20 Leaders Summit which will be held on 15 and 16 November in Brisbane, Queensland. This will be the most significant meeting of world leaders Australia has hosted.
