I took this image for my 100 strangers project.
I was taking some grafitti images at the skate site in the Baltic triangle, Liverpool. There were two young lads, and I am always guarded about photographing young people. Lauren looked a bit older and like the other two was using a skte board. I asked if I could take some images of her.

Once I had finished I stopped and showed her what I had done. I was somewhat surprised that she was 35. She was from Essex but moved to Northampton when her parents seperated. She is nuro diverse and like so many people who are nuro diverse school was not a sucess story. In here twenties she attended college and obtained A levels and progressed to univesity in Liverpool where she studied desgin and textiles. She managed this with two young children - she has 2 aged 15 and 5 at the time of taking this shot. She now works for a fashion company and makes use of her university qualification.
After this image was taken she was admitted to hospital and was seriously ill. We swapped some messages and then it all rather worryingly stopped.
I am happy to say she is recovered and home and well.
