Dull Day In The Townships

The weather was less then perfect but that was always the chance you took in the days before internet weather. The village of Cookshire Quebec in the Eastern Townships region was always a great show to watch a train. Either direction was hard downhill into town and an immediate hard climb out of town. Here a westbound train with CP Rail RS-18 # 1839, 1847, 1822, 1844 has reached the bottom of the hill next to the station. At this point in the early part of the century a Maine Central line also passed at this point. Cookshire, Quebec March 23, 1991
