Cape Jervis. From the helipad - Sealink Ferry leaving the terminal for Kangaroo Island and container ship leaving Backstairs Passage to enter St Vincent Gulf, Fleurieu Peninsula South Australia

Cape Jervis is the terminal for the car and passenger ferry across to Kangaroo Island.

When Matthew Flinders circumnavigated Australia in 1802 he passed between Kangaroo Island and the mainland through Backstairs Passage.

He named Kangaroo Island, and Backstairs Passage, as well as Cape Jervis after John Jervis, the First Lord of the British Admiralty.
