East Midlands Trains 153321 Class 153 Super Sprinter

EMT 153321 (Car No. 52321) about to cross the 'High Street' road crossing (Signal Box no longer used since Semaphores were removed) shortly after leaving Lincoln Central Station 12th May 2015. This is 'bustitution' Lincoln style in more ways than one. This unit will be shuttling passengers to Newark Northgate station where they will (hopefully) connect with an East Coast express to London. These units were built from Leyland National bus parts on Leyland Bus bogied under-frames and converted by Hunslet - Barclay, Kilmarnock from Class 155 2-Car units. All drivers will give testament that the driving cab constructed at the 'centre' end is a little cramped. How much longer will the people of Lincoln (and of course many others in England's Northern cities have to endure these 'past their sell by date' units before being brought into the 21st Century?
