Cauchas rufimitrella.

This was spotted as I was looking for Orange-tip eggs on some Garlic Mustard and Cuckooflower in Abbotts Wood.

I spotted this tiny long-horned micro moth and couldn't remember seeing one before.

When I got home I checked my Micro moth books and identified it as Cauchas rufimitrella, however there were no recent records of it in the Abbotts Wood area.

Being so small it may well have been overlooked but it does appear, according to the county recorder, that it is beginning to spread to new areas and recolonising areas that had lost the insect.
