Marbled Whites (Melanargia galathea).
Seaford.
This pair of mating Marbled Whites are from 2014. On spotting the female it was obvious straight away that she was different from any other Marbled White female I had seen before being almost 'orange' on her under-side. It was suggested that she was an aberrant form and this was later confirmed by a top UK aberrant expert as an aberrant form 'flava'. Later in the day I spotted her again flying across the meadow where she stood out from all the other butterflies.
