Pompad the Philosopher

I like to imagine that he is an ancient philosopher who first came up with the pompadour, but it didn't catch on, and his contribution to hair fashion was lost to society until some intrepid world trekking trend-setter discovered his writings in an until-then undisturbed ruin and brought the style to the 1950's.
