Cathy Howard's Retirement Celebration, June 24, 2019

The celebration was held at the Virginia Repertory Theatre, which was formed in 2012 by the merger of Barksdale Theatre and Theatre IV, and presents a range of work on four seasons; including world premiers, musicals, dramas, comedies and children's classics.

The set featured in the remarks is the opening scene of The Wiz, when Dorothy is in Kansas visiting with Uncle Henry and Aunt Em before the tornado hits, and she is transported to Oz. It was designed by Kimberly V. Powers.
