M770 LYE (6)
1994 Toyota Carina E 2.0 GLi estate.
My old Carina E. Originally supplied by Park Lane Toyota in London. These are the photos taken for its eBay listing. It replaced my Bluebird and was bought from Mantles at their old St Barnabas Road garage in Cambridge. It was fast, reliable, fairly economical and big enough inside. It did eat window regulators (I must have fitted 4 or 5 to the driver's door) and the sunroof leaked (I still have the old one in the shed). I fitted the alloy wheels to replace the original steels (I still have a buckled alloy and the steel wheels with trims stacked near the shed).
Despite it looking rather good in these photos it was feeling a little tired. I can't remember the mileage but I think it was around 150,000. It sold to a chap with a Vauxhall Frontera and trailer who hauled it off to Latvia of all places. Where it might still live on although I doubt it. I replaced it with the Focus Mk.1 Ghia.
Last taxed in August 2006 with an export marker showing.
