Triple Falls DuPont State Forest Western North Carolina Waterfall
~ Triple Falls ~
An ethereal scene unfolding at Triple Falls in the beautiful DuPont State Forest in Western North Carolina.
This was a shot I'd been wanting to capture for some time, and on this morning the fog was just right. Moreover, the recent Spring rains meant the falls were on full display.
I wanted to capture the falls emerging through the fog amidst the lush greens and blooms. I also decided to get low and close in an attempt to capture the grandeur of this multi-tiered waterfall.
In between exposures, standing in six inches of rushing water, I would pause, look around, and just be in awe of the majestic nature around me. I could wander these woods for hours and never tire of the scenery - it is quite easy to get lost in the beauty of this place!
Of all the beautiful cascades located in this mystical forest, this upper section of Triple Falls is my favorite due to the various compositional opportunities available, and I hope you like this one?
Furthermore, what is your favorite North Carolina waterfall?
I'd be curious to find out and look forward to reading your thoughts and responses in the comments below.
Until next time, have a wonderful weekend, and stay safe in your journeys!
Photo captured with a Nikon D800, Nikkor 17-35mm f/2.8 lens, and a Luminesque polarizer filter. Gear supported on a Really Right Stuff tripod and ball head.
