Flaming torch

The symbol of the flaming torch is closely associated with St Dominic based on a dream his mother had when carrying him in her womb. Often depicted in the mouth of a dog, Bl. Juana saw this dog with a torch setting the world ablaze. This was interpreted as St Dominic setting the world ablaze with the Word of God.
