Bohemian Waxwing feeding on berries

Bohemian Waxwings are fruit fiends. They rely primarily on fruit. In the winter time, they eat juniper, holly, and mountain ash berries. They always form in a large group when they are looking for fruiting trees and shrubs. There were thousand of them passing through my area last week. It only took 10-15 minutes for them to "strip" a berry tree.

This photo was taken in Edmonton in an extremely cold morning (feels like -35 Degree Celsius with wind chill). Feb 2023.
