Terowie Railway Station
The Terowie railway station, in South Australia, commenced operating in 1880. The platform to the right was where General Douglas MacArthur, after escaping the Japanese in the Philippines and making his way to Australia, first gave his famous "I shall return" speech. The rail line closed in 1988.
