With just a couple of hours left in the flight, Etihad Boeing 777 A6-ETR, operating EY450 from Abu Dhabi to Sydney, experienced a fire in the hold. The flight crew initially smelt smoke, then received a fire alarm. An emergency was declared and the aircraft diverted to Adelaide, South Australia.
After a safe landing, the aircraft halted on taxiway 'Foxtrot Six'.
The aircraft was later towed to the terminal.
